An exciting new addition to the core range from Springbank, this is their 5 Year Old 100 Proof. 100% matured in bourbon casks, this is bottled at 57.1% or in the old measurements, 100 proof. A combination of sweet, savoury and smoke, this is a chance to try a fresher Springbank, without too much cask influence.
Nose: A bright and vibrant start to this dram, there are notes of green apples, gorse bush, wine gums, and a mineral note.
Palate: well balanced with a touch of peat smoke, and sweet notes of icing sugar and white chocolate. Notes of tomato plant, sunflower seeds and linseed oil develop.
Finish: brings notes of honey and gooseberries.
