Springbank 21yo - Campbeltown Single Malt

Springbank 21yo - Campbeltown Single Malt

£450.00Price

THE HOLY SPIRITS VIEW

Springbank's pinnacle core release, and one of the hardest bottles in the range to actually find on a shelf. Twenty-one years, four cask types, and a Port-led recipe that's turned this into one of the most sought-after annual Campbeltown releases going. Scrambled for globally the moment it lands.

THE DISTILLERY

Made at Springbank, one of only three working distilleries left in Campbeltown and the only one in Scotland still doing every stage in-house, from floor malting to bottling.

THE WHISKY: 21 YEAR OLD, 2026 RELEASE

Matured across four cask types — 65% Port, 25% bourbon, 5% rum and 5% sherry — continuing the Port-led recipe of the past couple of releases, with this year's batch running a touch more unctuous than the last. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, natural colour.

TASTING NOTES

Medjool date and sticky toffee pudding straight away, treacle, stewed plum, a burst of blood orange zest, delicate peat drifting quietly behind it all. Palate carries that smoke through, smoked fig, caramelised brown sugar, cigar box, blackberry, an unexpected savoury note of cured Iberico ham. Banana bread and cinnamon build late, a final earthy, savoury edge closing things down. Rich, luxurious, properly complex — Port doing the heavy lifting here without ever drowning Springbank's own maritime backbone. Stunning depth for something this drinkable at 46%.

Serve: Neat, in a Glencairn glass, ideally after dinner — this has the richness and length to work as a proper digestif in its own right.
