A number of unique casks were filled at Glenallachie in 2006. Since Billy Walker took over the distillery and its stocks, he has been able to scour the warehouses for special gems like this one. This particular barrique previously held Rioja wine, before spending 15 years bringing this whisky to full maturity. 301 bottles were produced at a cask strength of 60.5%

Nose: Rich notes of stewed plums, raspberries, coconut, treacle and nutmeg
Palate: Layers of heather honey, treacle and ginger, with red berries, apricots and almonds.
