Sukhinder Singh has worked in every aspect of the spirits business – from stacking his parents’ off licence shelves, to creating one of the largest online drinks retailers, to bottling highly sought-after whiskies and fine spirits, and establishing his own distilleries.
 
When it began producing in 2008, this craft whisky-making operation was the first Japanese whisky distillery to open since 1973. Ichiro Akuto has insisted on a hands-on approach, with an onsite cooperage and production of just 90,000 litres a year.
