Danbury Ridge Chardonnay 2023

Along with Kit's Coty in Kent, Essex's Crouch Valley is probably the best place right now for producing top quality still English wines.  This is excellent with bright citrus fruit, a hint of reductive smokiness, crisp acidity, sea shell minerality and great length with cream on the finish.  Very Burgundian in style - I've read one review saying it's styled on the sublime Pierre Yves Colin Morey wines - and well worth trying for yourself.
 
Danbury Ridge Chardonnay 2023 is a still wine produced in Essex, UK. Following careful selection, the grapes were handpicked and whole bunch-pressed, then fermented in 228L Burgundian oak barrels with full solids. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation while resting on gross lees for 12 months, enhancing its complexity. After a single bâtonnage, it was transferred to tank for further maturation before bottling without fining.
