Athila was lucky to have attended a tasting masterclass with Chichibu a little over a year ago and on that infamous tasting he tried a "just over 3 years ago" that wasn't yet an official bottling (but a cask sample with a handwritten label) and that has gone into Athila's top 5. So yes, dangerously delicious!

The Chichibu Distillery II marks the exciting next chapter for Japan’s most admired craft whisky producer. Founded in 2019, Chichibu’s second distillery was built to expand production while maintaining the same dedication to traditional techniques and meticulous cask selection that made the original site world-famous.
This inaugural release showcases the vibrant character of the new distillery, matured primarily in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at a bold 55.5% ABV. It’s a perfect balance of intensity, depth, and the signature fruity malt profile Chichibu fans love.
 
Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright orchard fruits, honey, and a touch of smoke.
Palate: Smooth and rich with layers of vanilla, stone fruits, and gentle spice.
Finish: Long, warming, and malty with subtle oak and lingering sweetness.
