Can Sumoi La Rosa 2023
‘La vie en rose’ it’s a song that you drink
We could say “elegance”, we could say “intensity” and we could say “delicacy”, but we would not be talking only about the famous song 'La vie en rose', but also about Can Sumoi’s La Rosa, as it is a very sensitive rosé that causes a love at first sight.
Behind its fragile appearance lies a wine with great personality, floral and mineral, reminiscent of the stone fruit and pulp of raspberries, but above all the petals. If life were rosy, everyone would definitely drink this wine.
Can Sumoi
Driving around Penedès in the search of the essence of its soils and landscape, Pepe Raventós found what he was looking for at Can Sumoi: an estate located at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level, with unique soil types and local grape varieties. Can Sumoi dates back to 1645 and is set in a stunningly solitary landscape with mineral soils and special geological conditions. The estate saw a new beginning in 2012 as the perfect site for the new natural still Raventós i Blanc wines.
The Can Sumoi estate covers 400 hectares of land, 30 of which are planted with Parellada, Xarel·lo and Sumoll vines. Oak, holm oak and pine woodland stretches out over most of the rest of the land, which is also home to the main winery building and three other seventeenth-century farmhouses where wine used to be produced too.
The Can Sumoi project is committed to respect for the environment, natural and biodynamic vinification, and the production of high-altitude natural wines with the least possible intervention both in the field and in the cellar.
