Berry Bros & Rudd, Blair Athol 2009, Cask #307592

£105.00Price

Blair Athol sits just south of Pitlochry, nestled in Perthshire's picturesque Vale of Athol, often described as the "gateway to the Highlands." Known for its rich, nutty, and malty character, Blair Athol is equally admired for the leafy veil of ivy draping the distillery’s historic walls, changing dramatically in colour as the seasons unfold.

Tasting Notes:

The nose opens with powerful Pedro Ximenéz intensity, immediately enveloping the senses with dark fruits, raisins, and toasted nuts. Figs and dates meld with a vibrant note of raspberry, underpinned by a delicate hint of liquorice and gentle herbal tones. On the palate, a pleasing tannic character complements the rich wave of dark fruits and worn leather, offering a chewy, sticky-sweet syrup quality. The experience deepens with chocolate-covered raisins and a warm, satisfying finish that lingers with a touch of earthiness and sweet spice.
