Balvenie Founders Reserve - Cognac Bottle (1980's)

A lovely old style Balvenie Founders Reserve in a cognac style bottle. This is the earlier non-aged statement version. Code on the bottle suggest this might have been bottled in 1983!
 
This super rare, 1980’s Balvenie is something that you definitely do NOT see everyday. It features the Founders Reserve stamp AND wax seal in the highly collectible ‘Cognac Style’ bottle. Fully matured in Sherry casks.
 
The words on the original 1980’s box states that “The Balvenie Founder’s Reserve is a rare malt, long appreciated in the Speyside area as one of the best drams in the glen.”
 
(bal-VENN-ee) Founded in 1889 by William Grant, Balvenie is located next to the giant Glenfiddich distillery on the outskirts of Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery employs traditional whisky making methods, being one of the few to retain its original floor maltings and on site cooperage. The Balvenie single malt is typically rich, luxuriously smooth, and has a distinctive honeyed character.
