Domaine Tariquet 1995 Bas-Armagnac
The nose has such opulence and charm in the guise of white chocolate, sauternes, coffee, toffee apple, golden syrup, milky chocolate croissant, and charred pineapple and tonka. The round elegant and spicy palate is rich, heavy, complex and fine.

At Domaine Tariquet, their Bas-Armagnacs are made exclusively from the grapes harvested from the family estates vineyards. The distillation takes place in authentic wood fired armagnac alambic using the traditional continuous distillation process. Their hundred-year-old cellar quietly safeguard their barrels or pieces, as they are called.
Each variety and each vintage are distilled and aged separately for the first years. Then, the blending of their pieces, a true savoir-faire at the heart of the identity and style of our Bas-Armagnacs, will finish with a long period of ageing and a meticulous selection.
They prefer to use barrels with a light toasting made from the French timber forests surrounding the property (Allier, Nivre) renowned for their fine grain. The color of their Bas-Armagnacs comes uniquely from the ageing in barrels. The naturally light tint is due to the alchemy between the delicately toasted oak and the eaux-de-vie, thus truly respecting their natural colour.
