Chorlton Deanston 14yo
Classy Highlands spirit from an underrated distillery for you here. The nose is lovely – starting fruity (peach gummies, tangerine), then developing on hoppy ales, flints, herbs, wax and rose petals. The palate has tinned pears, grapefruit syrup, hops and sweeter touches of honey and fruit syrup in the aftertaste. There’s an appealing balance of barley and breadiness with clean and zesty fruitiness.
This is one of those whiskies that feels very honest and close to the barley, with a sort of easy freshness and delicacy.
